Building Automation

Building automation is the automatic centralised control of a building's heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lighting and other systems through a building management system (BMS) and a networked lighting control system (LCS) or building automation system (BAS). The objectives of building automation are improved occupant comfort, efficient operation of building systems, reduction in energy consumption and operating costs, and improved life cycle of utilities.

Building automation is an example of a distributed control system – the computer networking of electronic devices designed to monitor and control the mechanical, security, audio visual, fire and flood safety, lighting (especially emergency lighting), HVAC and humidity control and ventilation systems in a building.

A building controlled by a BAS is often referred to as an intelligent building, "smart building", or (if a residence) a "smart home".

Building Management Systems and networked Lighting Control Systems delivered and serviced by AutomateNow range from stand-alone niche systems, through premium bespoke solutions, to multi-storey landlord-tenant high-rise offices.

AutomateNow is committed to providing best-in-class control systems and solutions that offer superior performance by leveraging the synergies of lighting control and other engineering services. Whether it’s the seamless control of products additional to lighting, or integration with third-party products and systems, AutomateNow solutions present the flexibility, scalability and reliability required of today’s demanding applications.

System Engineers from AutomateNow are well versed in building automation and lighting control protocols and communication architectures, many of which are adaptations from Industrial Control System. Working with both open and proprietary protocols, a vast amount of data can be shared between the proposed Building Automation System and any specified third-party systems.

Industrial Control

Automation is the technology by which a process or procedure is performed without human assistance. Automation or automatic control is the use of various control systems for operating equipment commonly used in industries with minimal or reduced human intervention.

Industrial Control System (ICS) is a collective term used to describe different types of control systems and associated instrumentation, which include the devices, systems, networks, and controls used to operate and/or automate industrial processes. Depending on the industry, each ICS functions differently and are built to electronically manage tasks safely and efficiently. Today, the devices and protocols used in an ICS are used in almost every industrial sector and critical infrastructure such as the manufacturing, transportation, energy, and water and waste water treatment industries.

Industrial Control and SCADA systems delivered and serviced by AutomateNow range from stand-alone niche systems, through bespoke safety solutions, to large Distributed Control Systems in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

AutomateNow is committed to providing best-in-class control systems and solutions that offer superior performance by leveraging the synergies of delivering contemporary technology to many industry sectors whilst also actively lecturing on Critical Infrastructure and Control System Security.
